On February 27th, Erie Isle, Second Life® roleplay community, will host a unique screening event for the award winning documentary, Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown. Plans for this special evening include a screening of the movie, a live Q&A session with the filmmakers, a Lovecraft themed costume contest, and more. The public is invited as the filmmakers, Wyrd Studios creative partners Frank H. Woodward, James B. Myers, and William Janczewski join the Erie Isle characters and their guests in-world for the evening.
The winner of the Lovecraft themed Costume Contest will recieve an outfit designed by Vanilla C. Designs!
Lovecraft Screening Schedule for February 27th:
3:30PM – Pre-screening cocktail reception hosted by the Muircastle Trust
4:00PM – Screening of Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown
5:30PM – Q&A session with filmmakers Frank H. Woodward, James B. Myers, and William Janczewski.
Immediately following Q&A- Street party and Lovecraft costume contest co-hosted by Erie’s Twilight & Dreadshift. Prizes provided by Vanilla C Designs, Wyrd Studios, Cinevolve Studios and Erie Isle.

Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown is a chronicle of the life, work and mind of author H.P. Lovecraft, the man who created the Cthulhu mythos. Director Frank H. Woodward tells Lovecraft’s story, helped by appearances from modern horror and weird tales luminaries such as John Carpenter, Neil Gaiman , Guillermo del Toro, S.T. Joshi, Ramsey Campbell, Caitlín R. Kiernan, Andrew Migliore, Robert M. Price, Peter Straub, and Stuart Gordon. This film won Best Documentary at the 2008 Comic Con International and represents extensive research into this controversial and often misunderstood pioneer of horror fiction.

RESULTS
First, I’d like to thank you *all* who submitted an entry to the contest. I received loads of wonderful photos! The Vanilla C. Designs Calendar 2010 is now published and it can be picked up from the ‘CALENDAR 2010 ART GALLERY’. You can take copies of the calendar and give them to your friends!
The photos chosen to the Calendar will be used on Vanilla C. Designs advertisements & promotion material – so the featured models will get loads of publicity!

– This year’s winner’s photo is artistic and skillfully compositioned.
The photo is very athmospheric and the use of colours is perfect. It’s noticeable, that every
little detail was planned carefully when creating this photo.

The background is very well chosen and model’s pose is beautiful. Saleena is featured model of April.

– Beautiful Tritone photo. The use of shadows and lights is
lovely in this photo where everything else is B & W except the deep red lipstick the model is wearing.

Opium Fashion Agency Presents: Opium Tales – Sleepy Hollow. On October 29th & October 30th 6 pm SLT. “The set is a detailed recreation of the town of Sleepy Hollow. The clothing and jewelry – vintage, exquisite, and designed ESPECIALLY for this show! This will be a show unlike any other!”.
At the show you will see 6 outfits by Vanilla C. Designs! There will be also ‘hollowish’ designs from Amaranthus, KWZ, M’Lady, Nightshade Designs, The Black Canary and Wishbox.
